I have been getting some questions of how do you play with your chicks, well one thing is that you can run around and train them to follow you (make sure you don't step on them). You can watch a video of that on my blog. Another way you can play with them is by wrapping them up in towels like burritos but don't eat them, they are chickens that are living. You can also chase them around the place. Well that wraps it up. Chicken Man out. Peace.

Common questions
Since I've started this blog, I've had lots of questions about chickens. Here are some of them.
Q: How long do chickens live?
A: As long as a dog 10- 15.
Q: When do they start laying eggs?
A: When they are 9 months old.
Q: How many chickens should you get?
A: It depends on how much space you have and how many eggs you want. A chicken lays an egg every 25 hours.
Q: Do chickens need exercise?
A: Yes. Check out this video. Look closely for Buffy.

Chicken Problems
We are having some problems with my chicks. Their butts are full of poop. We looked it up and it is called pasting. So we have to soak their butts in the water. Here is Francis in the water. You need to watch them because they could drown.

Caring for Chicks
If you want your chickens to be comfortable around you you must play with them. Hold them, be around them. Caring : 1. wash your hands after you touch them, 2. clean the water 1 time every day, 3. make sure the heat lamp is at the right temp. I found out they like it around 85 degrees. 4.If you have them in your garage KEEP IT SHUT. 5. Have fun with them!
Chick Dads
Me and Lewis ( my brother) chose our chicks. I chose Buffy and Francis. Lewis chose Esther and Lucy. Lewis has the crazy ones. Mine are well... just fluffy. They now know who their dads are.

Chicks Arrive!
I was so excited. I got to pick up my chickens today. Here is a picture of me and my brother at the store.
Then we brought them home. They are so! FLUFFY. If you want to keep the chicks warm, start at 100 degrees and go down 5 degrees every week. Here are the supplies you will need for chicks only: waterer, feeder, chick brooder, bedding, heat lamp, food, and water. This is the picture of their new home.

Kinds of Chickens
I am so happy the chickens are coming in two days. I am getting 4 different breeds of chickens. I will show you the pictures. I am getting these chickens from Egg Plant Urban Farm Supply in St.Paul. I am buying them there because there is no minimum order. One place you at least had to buy 15 chickens.
