Chicks Arrive!

I was so excited. I got to pick up my chickens today. Here is a picture of me and my brother at the store.

Then we brought them home. They are so! FLUFFY. If you want to keep the chicks warm, start at 100 degrees and go down 5 degrees every week. Here are the supplies you will need for chicks only: waterer, feeder, chick brooder, bedding, heat lamp, food, and water. This is the picture of their new home.

Here are the cute chicks!
Francis
Esther and Buffy
Francis again
and Lucy

They look good Trey! How did you come up with the names, they are very unique? I hope they all stay healthy and grow well. Seems like you have a little bit of farmer/Grandpa Bill in you.

Thanks for reading my blog Uncle Jeff. I came up with Esther because its the Americana Easter Egg chicken, Buffy because of Buff Orpington, Francis and Lucy Lewie and I just like those names. They are all girls.

Hi Trey-
The chicks are really, really cute and tiny. What do they eat when they are small?
Can we come meet them today?

Thank your Mom for including Judy and I in your blog. I didn't know you had a farm too!
We will enjoy your blog as the chicks grow up to be chickens.
Have fun.

Hi Trey - Your blog is GREAT and I love your new chickens! Can we come meet them sometime soon? Also, Sonia really wants a fish - maybe you can give her some tips since you have experience with fish, too. Love, "Aunt" Kate L.

Hey Trey! We are thinking about getting some chickens so we can have fresh eggs. How many should we start with? ~ Your cousin in California, Leigh Dick
